Cruz: ‘No Doubt’ Beto O’Rourke Raised Millions From Impeachment Rhetoric [Interview]
Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz joined the broadcast to discuss several hot topics, including NAFTA, the presentation by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Iranian nuclear weapons program, as well as the issues that Representative Beto O'Rourke, Cruz's Democrat challenger for U.S. Senate, is basing his campaign on, such as marijuana and other drug legalization and impeaching President Donald Trump.
While describing the importance and impact of Netanyahu's presentation about the extensive proof that Israeli intelligence has gathered about the continued pursuit of nuclear weapons by Iran, Cruz said:
I thought it was an incredibly important presentation that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made. If fact, I would encourage your listeners to take twenty minutes, 'Google' it, and watch it online. It is a speech unlike any speech ever given by any head of state, ever.
Hasty asked Cruz about his thoughts on challenger Beto O'Rourke's nationally reported statement on The Chad Hasty Show last month where he said he'd support impeaching President Trump. Cruz replied:
He made news. He became the first Democratic candidate for Senate in the country to come out explicitly, and say categorically, 'yes', he would vote to impeach Donald Trump. That's what he said to you on the air is that he would vote 'yes'. Now I will say, I am certain that in the forty eight hours that followed that statement, that he raised millions of dollars nationwide. The far left, they are angry, they are filled with rage, they hate the president. And part of the reason why Congressman Beto O'Rourke is raising more money than any Democratic candidate in the country, is because he's running so far left, and he's doing things like making promises to impeach Donald Trump. I think that is great for raising money in Hollywood and New York City, and from liberals all across the country, but I don't think that reflects the values of Texans.
