KELLER, Texas (AP) — Police are seeking a motive in the deaths of an elderly North Texas couple found shot at an assisted living center in an apparent murder-suicide.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified the pair as Georgianne and Joe Woolum. Both were 90.

Staffers at Whitley Place in Keller on Wednesday morning found the bodies in the couple's unit after not seeing the husband and wife and checking on them.

Police say the woman apparently had medical issues and that Joe Woolum allegedly shot her, then himself. Police didn't immediately provide additional information on her medical history.

Investigators are trying to determine how the husband obtained the gun.

Keller is 10 miles north of Fort Worth.
