HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities have issued a statewide alert in their search for a missing child whose mother was found dead.

The Amber Alert was issued Tuesday as Houston police and other law enforcement personnel look for the 14-month-old boy. He's believed to be with his father, Tumetheus Levastavian Pack, who's about 40 years old.

The Texas Center for the Missing says the child's mother was found dead in Houston early Tuesday after previously texting that she had been shot. Twenty-six-year-old Angel Jackson had been last seen Christmas Eve.

Authorities say Pack may be driving a 2006 green Chevrolet Suburban with Arkansas plates.
