The event is presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), SOTX’s largest grass-roots fundraiser, as a means to raise funds to provide Special Olympics programming for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Abilene and the surrounding Big Country area. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the first pull is slated for 8:45 a.m.

To attempt this feat, you will need a team of 12 to help pull the 55,000-lb fire truck for 75 feet. An awards ceremony will follow featuring the fastest teams and the team with the most money raised.

The entry fee is $25 per person or $300 per team. If you have fewer than 12 members, please indicate so that “fill-ins” can be found.
