Trooper Sammy Long Memorial Sign
You can help to honor Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sammy Long.
Trooper Long was killed in the line of duty in 1976. A group of former McCamey Badger students petitioned the Texas Department of Transportation to erect 2 signs on Highway 67 in Upton County to honor Trooper Long. Once approval was received, the funds would have to come from outside sources since state public funds are not available.
There are 3 ways you can help to honor him.
There's a golf tournament this Monday, June 20th, at Bentwood Country Club. Call the club at 944-0520 for more information.
Donations are being accepted at the Wells Fargo Bank at 3806 Loop 306 and checks should be made out to "The Sammy Long Memorial Sign".
