The end of one month means the start of another, which also means that new things are coming to a streaming platform near you. Netflix’s July instant releases are stacked, and include a few classic cartoon dinosaur movies, the premieres of a new Netflix original shows, and one Star Wars Story.

Sex with movies — until now, it’s been an impossible dream. But Netflix is a company of innovation, and they’re not going to stop at reshaping the home-entertainment industry top to bottom. Much ruckus was raised recently when Netflix announced that they would do away with their widely reviled star ratings and switch to a thumbs-up/thumbs-down system for recommendations, but a new video from the streaming giant released today clarifies the nature of this new recommendations engine. At long last, we can decide which movies we want to do it with, as if the film industry was one big textual Tinder. And that’s not my comparison, either — Netflix wants you to think of this like a dating app!

Start marking your calendars now (and apologize to your loved ones in advance for your lack of interaction) because Netflix is looking pretty stacked in March. In addition to the usual assortment of recent releases, old favorites and contemporary classics, next month brings premieres of new Netflix Original series like Love Season 2, Grace and Frankie Season 3, and — last but far from least — the latest addition to Marvel’s Defenders lineup.

Scrubs already proved once that extending the franchise is no guarantee of success, even if the NBC-turned-ABC comedy ditched half the original cast for its Interns continuation. That said, Netflix has managed to revive a number of fan-favorites, so what would Zach Braff say to giving a Scrubs revival series the full greenlight?

Marvel’s Netflix schedule made it difficult to discern when additional seasons of the four (now five) heroes would debut, but it seems Luke Cage’s work is far from over. After The Defenders, Harlem’s hero for hire will officially be back for Season 2.

It’s not quite a streaming service hooked up to your eyeballs, but if there’s one thing Netflix subscribers have clamored for, its the ability to watch TV and movies on occasions where internet connections aren’t explicitly available. So it is, that Netflix will now let viewers download its programs at no extra cost.

Whether or not you subscribe to Netflix’s Making a Murderer championing Steven Avery’s innocence, few would argue the cruelty of Avery’s cousin Brendan Dassey being railroaded as an accomplice. There may yet be good news on that front, as Dassey’s overturned conviction and release have been made official, even as the state intends to re-try him.

Friday dropped a bombshell on anyone familiar with the subjects of Netflix’s Making a Murderer, namely that Steven Avery’s “accomplice” and nephew Brendan Dassey had his conviction overturned, and could well walk free. Now, filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos respond to the shocking news, as well do former Avery lawyers Jerry Buting and Dean Strang.

“Remember mixtapes?” the new video from Netflix asks. For the benefit of viewers under 30, it explains. “Ok, so they were like playlists, but on actual, physical tapes. (Which are like CDs but older.” Calling playlist writing “a fundamental life skill,” Netflix then introduces “Flixtape” a new function that enables customers to create and share their own Netflix playlists.

Way back in 2012 (or at least it feels way back), Netflix and Disney struck a deal for all of Disney’s movies — including Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm — to stream exclusively on Netflix Instant. According to the terms of their agreement, the deal wouldn’t kick in until 2016, which just so happens to be the year in which we are currently living. As announced today, Netflix will officially begin streaming Disney films in September, but that doesn’t mean the studio’s entire library will magically appear in your Instant browser.
