SPRING, Texas (AP) — A third metal detector has been set up at a Houston-area school where security was tightened after a student was stabbed to death.
The Spring Independent School District on Tuesday announced use of an additional metal detector at Spring Hill School to alleviate congestion of students lining up for processing.

Students returned to classes Monday with metal detectors at the front and the rear entrances of the building where school was canceled since the Sept. 4 altercation.

A funeral was held Monday for 17-year-old Joshua Devon Broussard. Another student, 17-year-old Luis Alfonzo Alfaro, remains jailed on a murder charge.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has blamed the fight on gang violence. Three other students were wounded.

The third security device allows entry through the school's band hall.
