LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) — A Longview-area high school student arrested last week on charges of making a terrorist threat against his high school has voluntarily and permanently left the East Texas school.

Attorney David Moore tells the Longview News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1pGDaYp ) that 17-year-old Christopher Andrew Jones regrets comments he made on an online gaming site, didn't intend his remarks to be communicated as threats and didn't intend to commit violence.

The FBI was notified by an informant of the threats made in a chat room.

Jones was a senior and National Honor Society member at Longview's Pine Tree High School. He was arrested while leaving home and headed for school.

He has no prior criminal record and is free on $10,000 bond.
