Police Seek ID Of Found Female Body

ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Investigators are trying to identify a woman whose body was found outside an abandoned West Texas house.

Abilene police say some people riding all-terrain vehicles came upon the body Sunday afternoon. Sgt. Lynn Beard says the body was near a dirt trail.

Police say the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. Authorities have ordered an autopsy.

Abilene police are treating the death as a homicide.
