Multiple Charges for Ft. Worth Police Officer

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A North Texas police officer has been accused of sexually assaulting a prostitute, official oppression and theft.
Fort Worth police Chief Jeffrey Halstead on Wednesday announced the charges against Officer Douglas Campbell, who's on administrative leave.

Tarrant County jail records Thursday didn't list Campbell as an inmate. No publicly listed phone number could immediately be located for the patrol officer.

Campbell was arrested Sept. 25 on a charge of theft by a public servant. He was freed on bond in the case of $2 allegedly taken from an abandoned vehicle that was part of a police sting.

Campbell surrendered Oct. 4 on charges of official oppression-sexual harassment and sexual assault by a public servant. Documents indicate Campbell threatened to arrest a prostitute if she refused to have sex with him.
