The man who made "They're magically delicious!" one of advertising's catchiest phrases has died.

Arthur Anderson, who voiced the popular leprechaun in commercials for Lucky Charms from 1963-1992, passed away last Saturday in New York City at the age of 93.

A seasoned actor who appeared on radio, Broadway and television, as well as in film, Anderson's most enduring credit is of the pint-sized cereal spokesman Lucky the Leprechaun.

Anderson never shied away from the role. “I never got free cereal,” he told ABC News in 2005. “But they gave me lots of green money. And it was a fun character to play. Hardly a day goes by when somebody doesn’t ask me to sing the Lucky Charms jingle, and I’m proud of that.”

Lucky Charms' parent company, General Mills, offered its condolences on Anderson's passing.

Lucky Charms is saddened by the loss of Arthur Anderson, the original voice of Lucky the Leprechaun. For more than 50 years, generations of Americans have known that Lucky Charms are "Magically Delicious!" and we have Arthur's voice to thank for that."

Lucky's "They're magically delicious" catchphrase is up there in the pantheon of memorable breakfast cereal slogans, along the likes of Frosted Flakes' "They're grrrreat!," Trix's "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids," Cocoa Puffs' "I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" and Rice Krispies' "Snap! Crackle! Pop!" Which one is your favorite?
