RENO, Texas (AP) — Police have shot and killed a 32-year-old North Texas man they say exited a home during a standoff and pointed a rifle at them.

Police in Reno, northwest of Fort Worth, went to the home late Thursday following reports of shots being fired.

The man, identified by authorities as Ronnie Lee Padron, barricaded himself inside and at least twice fired a weapon from the home. No one was struck and it wasn't clear if Padron was firing at law enforcement officers.

Authorities eventually used a gas to flush Padron from the home. He was shot when he came outside while pointing the rifle.

The Parker County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Padron had a warrant for his arrest but it wasn't clear what charge he faced.
