LAKEWAY, Texas (AP) — A 19-year-old Central Texas man is accused of trying to sell $175 worth of drugs to a 12-year-old.

Arrest documents say that the child's mother read text messages on the child's phone and notified police in Lakeway.

The Houston Chronicle reports that an officer began posing as the child on the child's phone. The officer set up a meeting in a local park with the man.

Upon meeting, the man admitted he had gone to the park to sell marijuana and simulated LSD to the child.

The man was arrested Nov. 25 on charges of delivery of a controlled substance to a child. He remained in the Travis County Jail on $20,000 bond Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear whether the man has an attorney.
