GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — A Southeast Texas man must serve the maximum 99 years in prison for sexual assault of a toddler in a cellphone-recorded attack.

Jason Michael Grant was sentenced Wednesday after being convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in the 2012 assault. The case involved a then-14-month-old victim.

The Galveston County Daily News (http://bit.ly/1UsPITC ) reports the 36-year-old Grant is not eligible for parole because the victim was younger than age 6.

Jurors watched a 10-second video recording of the assault that was made with Grant's cellphone.

His trial was delayed since last February when Grant was found incompetent for trial and was temporarily committed to a mental hospital. An October evaluation determined he was competent.

A woman whose 2013 conviction in the case was overturned awaits retrial.
