DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas man has been arrested after officials say he posed as a physician at Children's Medical Center Dallas and later stole an ambulance from Medical City Dallas Hospital.

Dallas media outlets report a 23-year-old man faces charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and evading arrest. He was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Dallas County Jail. The suspect's bail has been set at $7,000.

Officials at Children's Medical Center Dallas say the suspect said he was there to shadow a doctor, but was not able to produce any type of valid identification. A statement from the hospital says he was escorted from the building after questioning.

Authorities say the man later stole an ambulance and was fleeing from police with the emergency lights on when he crashed into another vehicle.
