Lots of Racing Fun in Fredericksburg this Weekend

Fans of pari-mutuel horse racing can enjoy two days of live races only, this weekend, Aug 8-9, at Fredericksburg Downs on the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.

Gates open at 11 a.m. and post time is 1 p.m. both days.

Admission to the races is $7 for adults, $3 for children six to 15 years of age and free for children five and under. Reserved seats are $10 and box seats are $15. Advance tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.gillespiefair.com and clicking on “tickets” for a secure online transaction.Box seats have been selling out, so you are encouraged to use  the online option to reserve your seats in advance.

The races are part of a “summer of fun” presented by the Gillespie County Fair & Festivals Association. Remaining events include:

Aug 20-23 - The Gillespie County Fair, featuring musical guests Jake Hooker, Wade Bowen, and Johnny Rodriguez

Aug 22-23 - Live Pari-Mutuel Horse Racing

Sept 12 - Fredericksburg Professional Bull Riding

The track is located just south of Fredericksburg, Texas, on Hwy 16. The venue features free parking, covered grandstand, and on-site food and beverage service.
