LEANDER, Texas (AP) — A former Central Texas teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a student who was babysitting his family.

Joshua Riggins of Leander (lee-AN'-der) was arrested Tuesday on one count of sexual assault of a child and two counts of an improper relationship between an educator and a student. The 27-year-old Riggins was freed on $160,000 bond.

The student told an officer that she was babysitting in October when Riggins and his wife came home. The student says she and Riggins watched a movie after his wife went to bed, then he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Riggins taught geography and was an assistant coach at Rouse High School in Leander. He was put on administrative leave amid the investigation and later resigned.

Online records don't list an attorney for him.
