Patrick and Abbott were introduced by newly elected State Senator Charles Perry (R- Lubbock) and Patrick came out swinging against the Democrats; after taking a selfie for his social media (pictured).

“And now the general (election) is here. And we're going to win big in West Texas; we're going to win big in Lubbock. And it’s important that we don’t just win but win big,” said Patrick. “I know the (Attorney) General and I have talked about since Day 1, we just don’t want to defeat them, we want to crush the Democrats. We want to send Battleground Texas and George Soros’ money and the Hollywood money and the Northeast liberal money back to where it came from and make sure they’re not back here in 2016 and 2018, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Patrick continued, "I believe, in my heart that we are America's last hope, Texas. As my friend Senator Donna Campbell says, 'There's not another Texas to move to'. So, we have to get it right."

Before fully getting into his remarks, Abbott took a moment to thank Patrick and Senator Perry for their service in the Texas Legislature and said they will do a great job in the next Legislative session.

Abbott's first stem-winder was discussing Obamacare (Affordable Healthcare Act). "I fought (Obamacare) all the way to the Supreme Court," Abbott said. "Not just, because I knew how wrong it was for America and how it violated the Constitution. I could foresee in advance the damage that it would do to access to healthcare for so many people, especially women.

"It is time that we get government out from between the doctor-patient relationship. Get rid of these bureaucrats and return the healthcare where it belongs: between the doctor and the patient."

Abbott also explained why photo Voter ID is so important for the State of Texas. "I know that cheating occurs in elections in Texas," he said. "I, as your Attorney General, have prosecuted people who were casting votes on behalf of dead people. People who voted twice, foreign nationals registered to vote illegally. Voter fraud exists and it must be stopped and I will continue this fight to prevent cheating and illegal voting at the ballot box in Texas."

Abbott then transitioned into explaining to his supporters how a vote for his Democrat opponent, Wendy Davis, is a vote for President Obama's policies, "Barack Obama himself, and his policies, and his team are on the ballot this election cycle right here in the state of Texas. Because my opponent’s campaign is being run by Barack Obama operatives.

"Barack Obama's national field director, the community organizer, is working for my opponent's campaign. Barack Obama's national finance director. Barack Obama's national pollster. Barack Obama's deputy campaign manager, and even Harry Reid's spokesperson are all working for Wendy Davis to try to turn Texas blue.  For one, I think that after November 4th we need to make sure Harry Reid gets fired as the Senate Majority Leader."

When Abbott started to wrap up his remarks, he urged supporters to get out to vote and to take advantage of Early Voting, "If anyone here has not voted early, we're here to tell you what your parents told you, 'Do not put off till tomorrow what you can do today'.

"Battleground Texas, put in this state by Barack Obama, is working on a voter turnout machine unparallelled in the history of this state. If we don't have people in the Lubbock area turn out and vote, you need to understand, that your future, your voice, your version, could be very well be represented by the Texas version of Barack Obama.  We cannot risk our future to that."

KFYO News had a chance to speak with Attorney General Abbott after the rally and you can listen to the question-and-answer right here on KFYO.com. Among the topics discussed, getting Texas Tech University to Tier I status.

Abbott and Patrick continued their joint campaigning Tuesday afternoon with a stop in Amarillo.
