Gas prices have moved back up in Texas over the past week according to the latest AAA Texas Gas Watch.  The average price of regular unleaded is now $1.97 a gallon, up three cents from last week.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA; drivers in Austin are paying the highest average price in the state at $2.00 a gallon. Many gas stations in Lubbock are selling regular unleaded in the $1.80s and $1.90s.

Recent maintenance at refineries in the Midwest have contributed to the increase in gas prices. AAA states U.S. refinery production is expected to return to normal in two months. Downward pressures continue against crude oil and gas prices.

This week's national average for regular unleaded is $2.21 a gallon, up two cents from last week.
