The debate over gay marriage has gotten a little more childish. And that's a good thing.

A fourth grade student who was given an assignment to write a persuasive essay tackled the controversial subject and the results have gone viral, with his teacher posting the piece on Reddit.

Yes, the essay has some grammatical errors (he is a fourth grader, after all), but there’s no denying his emotion, especially when he tells people who are against gay marriage to “get over it.”

Why gay people should be able to get married is you can’t stop two adult’s from getting married because there grown and it doesn’t matter if it creeps you out just get over it.  And you should be happy for them because it’s a big moment in their life. "

A GLAAD spokesman was impressed with the boy’s argument, noting, “This fourth grader is echoing what a majority of Americans of all ages now feel, and perfectly represents the respect for diversity that this student’s generation is learning.”

We say give this kid an "A" for effort and for standing up for what he believes in.
