Just before 6 a.m., Thursday a two alarm fire erupted at R & S Construction, 19 East 4th, near South Chadbourne. Fire crews were attempting to make entry through a door, when a portion of the north wall collapsed and fell on them. Two of the fire fighters were taken for medical attention and their conditions are not known.

Although heavy smoke and flames were visible, luckily it was contained to a storage area and didn't reach the main warehouse, according to Scott Farris, San Angelo Fire Department's assistant chief.

Good news: no one was inside the structure at the time of the fire. The cause is currently under investigation and foul play is not suspected.
