Tensions were certainly high during the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams joint practice Tuesday (Aug. 18).

The two teams got into huge brawls on back-to-back plays between the Cowboys defense and Rams offense, and the practice was cut short after the second fight.

Cowboys linebacker Andrew Gachkar and Rams center Demetrius Rhaney were responsible for the first fight, which then broke out into several smaller melees. In the second Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant was punched in the face by Rams cornerback Imoan Claiborne.

One of the fights eventually spilled into the area where fans were watching. A security guard later found one of Bryant's diamond earrings on the field following the fight.

"There is no excuse for it," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said. "You can't blame it on anybody. It just happened. Fortunately, nobody got hurt."

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett declined to comment after the joint practice, but defensive end Jeremy Mincey quoted the coach to say, "It's always good to show fight, but we got to be composed in situations like that and stay away from that. Fight with the pads and focus on the game."

The two teams won't face each other in the regular season, so it looks like this might be the last time all these players are on the same field for a while.
