AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — A Texas prosecutor has cited witness issues in dropping the case against a divorced couple charged in the 1987 shooting death of a family friend in Amarillo.

A Potter County grand jury on Tuesday dismissed murder charges against Rosie Green and Horace Green. The body of 23-year-old Arthur Campbell was found in January 1987 at an Amarillo home.
An indictment was unsealed in 2012 after authorities arrested Rosie Green at her Henderson, Kentucky, home. Records indicate she was a beneficiary on Campbell's life insurance policy.

Prosecutor Randall Sims says three witnesses are no longer available. He says one witness has not been located, another has memory issues and a third declined to cooperate.

No publicly listed phone numbers for the Greens could immediately be located Wednesday.
