Most people have seen and know  the famous scene from "Dirty Dancing" where Patrick Swayze's character catches Jennifer Grey's character in the air during a dance competition. The scene  has been spoofed numerous times, like theUnitedHealthCare commercial.

It's kinda corny, but you probably laughed out loud.

The Cleveland Cavaliers likely intended the same result when they spoofed the commercial on their JumboTron last night. Problem is, they may have taken it a little too far. Watch the skit in the above video.

The video was actually up on the Cavs' Vimeo page, but after it was criticized on Twitter, it was taken down. But this is the Internet and we all know anything that goes up on the Internet stays there forever. Just by looking at what people are saying online -- there's bascially no argument about the crassness of the video.

Just a week ago, the Houston Rockets fired their social media manager over a tweet mainly made up of emojis. It could be that someone in the Cavs office will suffer a similar fate.

The Cavaliers issued an apology for the skit on Thursday:

During a timeout at last night's Cavaliers vs. Bulls playoff game at The Q in Cleveland, we ran a 1-minute in-arena video that was intended to be a humorous spoof on a popular commercial centered on a song and dance from the classic movie ‘Dirty Dancing.' While the video was not intended to be offensive, it was a mistake to include content that made light of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is a very serious matter and has no place in a parody video that plays in an entertainment venue. We sincerely apologize to those who have been affected by domestic violence for the obvious negative feelings caused by being exposed to this insensitive video.

The Cavaliers organization has a strong and lengthy track record of supporting domestic violence-related causes and efforts. We will continue to proudly work with our regional partners at the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center in support of their numerous programs to end domestic violence in our country once and for all.

Check out the original commercial that the Cavalier's were spoofing.
