There's apparently one stand out vegetable that most American's love to have on their plates and that would be stalk of broccoli!

The Green Giant food company knows vegetables extremely well, they've been picking and canning or freezing farm fresh vegetables for us to consume for more than 100 years now. The company recently conducted a survey of 4000 Americans to find out what their favorite vegetable is and then broke it down by states!

If the research company contacted me I would have responded to them with corn! Honestly, I'm not much of a vegetable person! I can count the number of vegetables I like to eat on one hand and still have a finger left over! I will eat corn, black eyed peas, green beans and potatoes out right! However, if a vegetable is cooked in something, like onions and carrots or used in creating a dish and it's been finely chopped up, I will usually eat it! But taking a raw carrot, celery stalk broccoli bunch and what not, I'm not a fan of. Enough about me and my eating habits, here are the results of the Green Giant survey!

Veggie by State

  • Broccoli is the most popular vegetable in 47% of U.S. states
  • Corn is the second most popular vegetable, chosen as the favorite in nine U.S. states
  • Idaho, known for its potatoes, was the only state to choose peas as the favorite veggie
  • Onions, peppers, celery and spinach are noticeably absent from the list of favorites

Texans make up the 47% by preferring broccoli over all other vegetables as their favorite vegetable!

Do you agree with this choice of broccoli being the favorite in Texas? Let us know what your favorite vegetable is by telling us in the comment section below.
