Beauty Salons and Barbers Can Open Fri, May 8th

As he continues to reopen the state, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced today (Tues, May 5th, 2020) that beauty salons, barber shops, nail salons, tanning facilities and other cosmetic facilities may open this Friday, May 8th with certain social distancing restrictions. 

 The Governor says gyms and other workout facilities may open on May 18th with certain restrictions in place.

Restaurants currently operating under Phase 1 of the Open Texas plan are currently required to limit seating capacity and distancing. 

The governor is expected to discuss Phase 2 of the Open Texas plan very soon which is expected to address the expansion of Phase 1 and to allow the opening of bars, tattoo and massage parlors, plus more.
