'Doctor Strange' has found its director in Scott Derrickson, and so now Marvel and company are moving on to casting and at the top of their lists for the titular Doctor are geek favorites Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Or -- in nerd terms -- Bane versus Khan.

Marvel has yet to postpone 'Ant-Man' since Edgar Wright left the project two weeks ago, and though we've heard a number of names mentioned as possible replacements, with Adam McKay coming the closest to taking the job, no one has yet to sign on. The latest word suggests 'Yes Man' helmer Peyton Reed and 'Wet Hot American Summer' auteur David Wain are the new front-runners to take over the project.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' is being post-converted into 3D for its upcoming August release, and will be shown in the IMAX format as well -- which is standard operating procedure for tentpole titles these days. But director James Gunn is working on both transfers, and is trying to make the IMAX presentation more engrossing by featuring well-placed shifting aspect ratios.

'Forrest Gump,' which turns 20 this year, is about to be rolled back into theaters to celebrate. Paramount has announced that the film will screen in IMAX auditoriums starting September 5, and have also moved up 'SpongeBob SquarePants 2' from February 13 to February 6, 2015.
