The ASU program was ranked No. 10 by Top Management Degrees and is one of seven programs at Texas schools to make the list. Only programs accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) or their newly-consolidated Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) were eligible for the rankings. Other criteria included institutional reputation and prestige, program flexibility and tuition costs. Data sources included U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and the National Center for Education Statistics.

ASU’s education programs have been accredited by NCATE since 2011 and are also accredited by the State Board for Educator Certification/Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In January, ASU’s overall graduate education program was ranked No. 36 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report for its 2016 edition of “Best Online Programs”

The online M.Ed. in educational administration is a 36-credit-hour program designed for educators seeking careers as principals, superintendents or school administrators. Upon completion of the ASU program, students have the option of taking the TExES exam for the Professional Certificate for Principals in the state of Texas. Students who receive the Professional Certificate for Principals are then eligible for ASU’s Texas Superintendent Certification Plan.

The other Texas schools with education programs in the Top Management Degrees rankings are Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M University, University of Houston, University of North Texas and University of Texas at Arlington. The complete rankings list can be found at
