COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — A Texas A&M University student from the Houston area has been arrested after police say he posted threats of violence online.

Brazos County jail records show 18-year-old Christopher Luis Bolanos-Garza, of Humble (UHM'-buhl), was being held Wednesday on a charge of making a terroristic threat.

No attorney was listed for the student, whose bond was set at $8,000 following his arrest Tuesday night on campus in College Station.

A&M police received calls earlier Tuesday about an anonymous post on social media website Yik Yak that warned people not to go to campus. Police obtained a subpoena for information from the website and linked the message to Bolanos-Garza.

The student faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
