VINTON, Texas (AP) — Two people have been killed in a collision in which a semitrailer hit a stalled vehicle along Interstate 10 near Vinton.

El Paso County Sheriff's spokeswoman Chris Acosta says deputies responded to the accident at about 12:50 p.m. Sunday.

The El Paso Times reports (http://bit.ly/1SV7Xjr ) that a car had stalled and was in the outside shoulder under the overpass of the eastbound lane. For an unknown reason, the semitrailer struck the stalled car, killing two of its passengers.

Acosta says an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
