This Wednesday, H-E-B and Meals For The Elderly will join together to kick off the holiday season in San Angelo by delivering a special holiday feast to more than 600 homebound seniors throughout the city. The meal will consist of baked turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, dinner roll and milk, and will be hand delivered by local H-E-B Partners (employees).

These deliveries coincide with the 19th Annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinner slated for Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday’s deliveries are also a way for H-E-B to bring the beloved Feast of Sharing celebration to residents who may not otherwise be able to participate.

The H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a FREE community event open to anyone who would like to attend. This year, H-E-B plans to serve more than 5,000 guests in just three hours. In addition to a holiday meal, the day will include live music and entertainment for the whole family. Free flu shots will be available to the first 500 attendees, and the Concho Valley Transit will provide free bus service to and from the event. For a list of participating bus stops, please visit www.cvtd.org or call 325-947-8729.

The H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners were founded in 1989 and are a facet of H-E-B’s Food Bank Assistance Program. The program works year-round to prevent hunger in Texas and Mexico. Today, 31 dinners are held across Texas and in Mexico, with more than 250,000 meals served to communities.
