FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a 10-year-old boy has died at a Fort Worth hospital after his all-terrain vehicle crashed into a pickup at a Montague County campsite.

The Tarrant County medical examiner's office identified the boy as Nicholas Torres. He was pronounced dead Saturday at the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Officials say the Saturday wreck occurred at the Rednecks with Paychecks Off-Road event, which organizers say attracted more than 10,000 people.

The four-day event featured 1,200 acres of deep and shallow mud pits, canyons, creek beds and rock courses for off-road vehicles.

The county's sheriff said Monday that Nicholas had pulled out in front of the pickup on a dirt road.
