The San Angelo Composite Squadron and Texas Leadership Charter Academy Cadet Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, has volunteered to conduct the WAA ceremony this year at the Belvedere Memorial Park on Saturday December 12, 2015 starting at 11:00 a.m. CST. Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember all soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who served, honor their sacrifices, and teach our younger generations about the high cost of our freedoms.

Specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA will be placed on memorials during a ceremony that will be coordinated simultaneously at over 1,000 participating locations all across the Country.

Currently 108 wreaths are slated for delivery to Belvedere but sponsorships are still available up until November 30. Sponsorships received after that date will be applied to 2016 events.

This is the 10th year that Civil Air Patrol squadrons have laid wreaths at Belvedere Memorial Park along with members of Goodfellow Air Force Base and Fort Concho. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony and stay and place a wreath on one of the graves.

In 2015 it is projected that around a million wreaths will be placed nationwide, by over 600,000 volunteers as part of the Wreaths Across America mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach.

Wreaths across America TM (WAA) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2007 to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman, Morrill Worcester, in 1992
