Worker Accused Of Stealing From Animal Shelter

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An Austin Animal Shelter worker is facing charges of theft following accusations he stole electronics and donations from the facility.

Austin police charged 25-year-old Terrell Hill with third-degree felony theft on Monday. According to an arrest affidavit, the shelter reported in December that an iPad and a large TV had been stolen.

The Austin American-Statesman (http://bit.ly/1Bd8ztb ) reports police didn't have any leads in the case until this month when a shelter employee told her supervisor that Hill discussed the thefts with her.

The female employee told police that Hill said he sold the iPad, kept the TV and stole various amounts of cash from a donation container.

Hill could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney yet.
