Angelo State University’s West Texas Collection will be closed for the remainder of May as staff and repair crews complete repairs of damages incurred during the thunderstorms on the evening of May 18 and early morning of May 19.

The West Texas Collection (WTC) is located in the Houston Harte University Center, which suffered water damage in several areas during the thunderstorms. While the various collections were not damaged, there is extensive damage to ceiling tiles, several exhibits, equipment, furniture and display cases in the microform room, reading room, display area and gallery area by the main entrance to the WTC.

As repair work continues, the WTC will be closed May 20-31 with the tentative date for re-opening set for June 1.
