Great news! The Smithsonian Museum of American History is looking to hire a beer historian. This is a three year gig, that pays $64,650 yearly, including benefits and is funded by the Brewers Association. Sounds good so far, right. But wait there's more.

As the beer historian, you'll work with other staff members developing and collecting research on the very hot craft beer industry. Ideally, you should have an advanced degree in American business, food, culture or a similar history specialization.

It's very evident these days that the craft beer business is growing by leaps and bounds. In fact, the number of breweries rose by 15% last year alone, to an all-time high of 4,269.

Something else that would prove helpful in applying for this job is proven research experience, oral history interviews, and writing for scholarly publications. For this job, you should also be willing to travel.
