SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Investigators say a video confirms that man fatally shot by sheriff's deputies in South Texas had a knife in his hand.

The Bexar (bayr) County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that examination of a second video of the Aug. 28 shooting shows 41-year-old Gilbert Flores with a knife.

A video shot by a motorist and released publicly shows Flores raised his arms and stood motionless before two deputies opened fire. A utility pole obscures one of the suspect's arms in that video.

Sheriff Susan Pamerleau said last week that a second video appeared to show Flores holding a knife. Her office's statement Tuesday confirms that Flores was holding a knife. The sheriff declined to release the second video or say who provided it.

The deputies are on administrative leave.
