JASPER, Texas (AP) — Two fired Southeast Texas officers will not be charged over a videotaped incident in which a woman held for an unpaid traffic ticket had her face slammed on a jail counter.

A Jasper County grand jury on Wednesday declined to indict former Jasper police Officers Ryan Cunningham and Ricky Grissom.

Both were put on paid administrative leave following the May 2013 incident in which an officer is also shown trying to drag Keyarika (kuh-REE'-kuh) Diggles across a floor.

The Jasper City Council later fired the officers. Texas Rangers investigated, then gave their results over to the state attorney general's office.

Diggles was charged with resisting arrest but that count was eventually dropped. She later won a $75,000 settlement of a civil lawsuit against Jasper and the ex-officers.
