Therapy Dog Training Classes Begin Thursday, Sept. 4th

Registration is open for therapy dog preparation classes beginning this Thursday, September 4th.
The four-week training class, open to dogs 1 year or older, will run from 7:15pm-8:15pm Thursdays.  Classes are $75 per dog/handler team, and owners must provide proof of rabies vaccination.

Therapy dogs and their handlers are volunteer teams in the community that are brought into settings such as nursing homes, airports, schools and hospitals for therapeutic interaction.  Teams can volunteer as a group or individually.

Class instruction includes emphasis on handling skills, exposure to medical equipment, test preparation and field groundwork.

Enrollment is limited.  To enroll in the class, complete a registration form in advance at www.dogjazz.com   Classes are held at 507 West 47th Street.
