The community is pleased to offer new housing and care options to seniors in need of assisted living memory care. The grand opening of The Crest will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at 402 E 8th Street. The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce will conduct a special ceremony beginning at 4:30 p.m. Harp music will be provided by Larissa Martindale, and Baptist Retirement Community’s Main Street Café will provide hors d'oeuvres for the special occasion. This event is free and open to the public.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome residents, those we have cared for in the past, their families, the public and healthcare professionals out to celebrate the widely anticipated grand opening of our newest addition to the campus, The Crest,” said Quinda Feil-Duncan, executive director of Baptist Retirement Community. “We have experienced tremendous success with the small-home concept in our Green House® Homes, and we wanted to create two new homes that would offer the same type of experience to others with assisted living memory care needs. This model allows us to provide an inviting, close-knit and tranquil environment that is tailored to each resident.”

Each house is more than 11,000 square feet, with a large, spacious patio and beautiful, courtyard. The interior design will feature artwork from local artists and photographs of scenes in San Angelo One of the homes offers a beauty spa where residents can be pampered with hair and nail services, while the other will have an area designed to nurture individual wellness needs. In the outdoor spaces, water features, trellises and porches will help residents engage with nature.

“The grand opening will be a fun time for all, and we encourage anyone interested in learning more to  come tour The Crest and celebrate this special occasion with us,” said Feil-Duncan. “We will be serving refreshments and will have plenty of team members available to answer questions. Our team strives to provide the most innovative and transformative senior living options to seniors in the Concho Valley.”

“I am passionate about the small-home model, and appreciate that we strive as a team to create an environment in which residents thrive,” said Tanya Solsbery, director of The Crest. “We have many wonderful ideas and plans for ways in which we can help residents of The Crest live their lives to the fullest in the most meaningful way possible. We are eager to serve them, and to give their families peace of mind.”
