Angelo State University will present a master class by acclaimed trumpet performer and teacher Vicente Campos on Monday, Feb. 27, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building 2602 Dena Drive.

Angelo State University’s Department of History will host the first spring 2017 installment of its Great War Centennial Commemoration Lecture Series on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

After again posting an all-time record fall enrollment last semester, Angelo State University has now posted another new all-time record spring enrollment with a total of 8,708 students enrolled at the university for the spring 2017 semester.

The Angelo State University Agriculture Department’s student Wool Judging Team took first place and had two individuals place in the top 10 at the 2017 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Collegiate Wool Judging Contest on Feb. 11 in San Antonio.

Two teams representing Angelo State University’s Bass Anglers Club finished in the top four and claimed prize money at the Yeti FLW College Fishing Southern Conference Tournament on Feb. 4 at Lake Sam Rayburn just north of Beaumont.

Sean Czarnecki, an Angelo State University senior pursuing a triple major in geoscience, mathematics and physics, won the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the annual fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union in December in San Francisco.

University Theatre at Angelo State University will present “Spitfire Grill” for its annual spring musical, beginning Thursday, Feb. 16, in the ASU Modular Theatre. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 23-25. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for non-ASU students, and free for ASU students, Arts at ASU subscribers and ASU Activity Card holders...

The Angelo State men’s and women’s basketball teams have made a combined 235 three-pointers so far in the 2016-17 season, but starting this weekend those deep shots will have extra meaning as the Rams an Belles take part in the Coaches vs. Cancer 3-point Challenge.
