State Defends President’s Travel Ban

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The state of Texas is defending President Donald Trump's ban on travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations as an assertion of presidential authority intended to keep the country safe from terrorists.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed documents Wednesday with the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals asking it to reconsider its decision not to immediately reinstate the ban.
