Seven In Custody In String Of Robberies

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston police have arrested seven people in an investigation into a string of armed robberies. 

Police early Tuesday nabbed five adults and two juveniles following a chase that ended in Bellaire.

Lt. Larry Crowson says authorities are going to review robberies that happened in the last few days and contact victims to help identify any suspects.

Undercover officers were watching a pickup truck allegedly used in some of the holdups when a car began driving nearby. Police say the car and the truck stopped, one person got out of each vehicle and then opened fire at a man, who ran away.

Police stopped the car but the truck sped away until eventually also being stopped.

Further details weren't immediately available on charges or about the man who fled.
