Sentences Handed Down In 2012 Murder Case

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A North Texas man, his girlfriend and a father and son have been sentenced to prison over the 2012 slaying of an acquaintance during an argument.  

Prosecutors on Monday announced the plea-deal penalties in the death of Arturo Torres, who was strangled and shot. His body was found buried last year in Wise County.

Javier Hernandez received 20 years after pleading guilty to murder in the fight at his Fort Worth home. Police didn't immediately say what prompted the dispute.

William Sisk and his son, 24-year-old Joseph Sisk, showed up to buy drugs. Hernandez ordered them to dump the body on their property.

The Sisks pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence. Both received four-year prison terms.

Rocksan Winterberg also pleaded guilty to evidence tampering. She received two years in prison.
