Police Suspect Synthetic Drugs In Latest Round Of Overdoses
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Emergency personnel in Austin have treated at least 20 people for suspected synthetic marijuana overdoses.
Austin police are trying to determine the source of the so-called K2 synthetic drug that led to people getting sick Monday.
Austin-Travis County EMS reports 15 people were transported to a hospital. Officials say nobody had injuries believed to be life-threatening. The patients were concentrated in an east area of downtown Austin.
In May, more than 35 people in Austin got sick after allegedly using synthetic marijuana.
