When you think of edible plants, you normally think of vegetables and a huge row garden. However, there are many edible plants you can use in your landscape that add color and texture, as well.

At this month’s Lunch ‘n’ Learn Gardening Seminar, Allison Watkins, AgriLife Extension Horticulturist, will be talking about how to incorporate edible plants into an attractive landscape to create a beautiful and productive yard. The class is this Friday, May 15 from noon to 1 p.m.

Bring your questions about your landscape challenges, too. The class will be held in the Commissioners’ Court on the second floor of the Edd B. Keys building, 113 W. Beauregard. Cost is only $5 per class. Bring your lunch. You can pick up your free giant pumpkin and sunflower seeds at the seminar.

The proceeds from the classes will go to The People/Plant Connection build the Children’s Adventure Garden in Padron Park. If you would like more information about The People/Plant Connection, call 325-656-3104 or go to their website.
