National No-Kill Day is usually celebrated on June 11th. It marks a day that we all unite to save the lives of animals across the nation. One day may only be 24 hours long, but those 24 hours can make the difference in thousands of pet lives who reside in shelters.

Concho Valley PAWS and the San Angelo Animal Shelter will be celebrating this national day on Friday and Saturday, June 12th and 13th.

Concho Valley PAWS will have lots of adoptable pets from the Animal Shelter this Friday, June 12th, from 1PM - 9PM, and Saturday from 10AM - 9PM at their location in the Sunset Mall. Bring your beloved four-legged family members out for professional pet portraits, low cost micro-chipping (which is a great thing in case your pet gets lost), SNIP Vouchers (which promotes responsible pet population control), and a puppy kisses booth.

On Saturday the 5th Pooch Pageant will be held at the Sunset Mall. This fantastic dog pageant beings at 1PM, and all dogs are encouraged to enter. Registration is $10.00 per dog, and you can enter the contests before the pageant begins at the mall management office or the PAWS office. Don't forget, all dogs must be on a leash and have proof to show for vaccinations.

All contests are open to any breed of dog, and there are prizes in all categories. You can vote for the Overall Top Pooch for $1.00 per vote.
