AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — Nine people have been arrested in an online sex solicitation and human trafficking investigation in the Texas Panhandle.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Sunday announced the arrests following a crackdown in the Amarillo area.

Law enforcement officers went undercover during the investigation into online solicitation of children.

DPS says eight suspects are from Amarillo. One man is from Pampa. All are charged with felony online solicitation of a minor.

One of the defendants has also been charged with assault on a public servant, evading arrest and tampering with or fabricating evidence.
