COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — More than 40 people gathered at a College Station convenience store to remember a clerk who died after being abducted from the store and beaten.

The Bryan-College Station Eagle (http://bit.ly/1Dk91KN ) reports that mourners gathered Saturday to remember 55-year-old Kevin Garcia, who worked the night shift at the store for 14 years.

Garcia was found in the bed of his pickup in a suburb of Fort Worth more than 10 hours after his March 17 kidnapping. He died March 20.

Garcia's sister, Denise Etherton, said Garcia didn't know he was loved by so many.

A tree now stands outside the store in Garcia's memory.

Nathaniel Tillery currently faces charges of kidnapping, assault and robbery. Police are investigating to determine if new charges are filed.
