SAGINAW, Texas (AP) — Police in a North Texas town say a man who was fatally shot by police after attacking two officers and several homeowners over the weekend had reportedly been running up and down a neighborhood street making growling sounds.

The Tarrant County medical examiner's office says the man, identified as 25-year-old Michael Brown, died of a gunshot to the chest Saturday.

Saginaw police spokesman Sgt. Damon Ing tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1PtdJds ) that given the man's behavior, "one of the main factors that will come into play is the toxicology report."

Neighbors were startled by Brown after seeing him assaulting a woman on a lawn. A man and woman who left their house to investigate were among those injured by Brown.

After attacking two officers, one of them shot him.
